Regional Plan
Regional plans are strategy, coordination and guidance papers designed to determine the relations between nation-wide policy making, plans and strategies and local activities. The document acts as a guide to increase the cooperation and coordination between local organizations and institutions; develop cooperation between public sector, private sector and the NGOs; increase the pace of regional development; ensure sustainability; and ensure effective and local use of sources.
Regional Plans include analysis of current socio-economic and physical situation, sector targets, Strengths-Weaknesses and Opportunities-Threats (SWOT) Study, spatial development scenarios, development axes, priority areas, strategies, objectives and measures which were created in the need of regions.
South Marmara Development Agency prepared two Regional Plans covering the years 2010-2013 and 2014-2023 with the contribution of steakholders in Balikesir and Canakkale provinces.
