Types of Supports
South Marmara Development Agency provides financial and technical supports due to the Regulation of Development Agencies Project and Activities Supports.
The supports are shown in the diagram.
The Agency provides guidance to local stakeholders in a great variety of subjects related to regional development. This support type does not contain any sort of financial grants and is provided either by Agency personnel or –if needed- through services procurement.
Applicants (public institutions, municipalities, professional institutions with public institution status) are entitled to demand training, contribution to program and project preparation, temporary specialist assignment, consultation, assistance in lobbying and establishing international relations within the scope of the technical support program.
Interest support is provided for profit – making individuals and organization’s projects whose qualifications specified in the protocol signed between the agency and intermediary organizations. In this support method, interest expense of the loans from related intermediary organizations is met by the Agency.
The relevant intermediary institutions are the institutions and organizations working under an agreement with the Agency, mediator public institutions are the specialized institutions (such as small and medium industry development organization and export promotion center) competent to make technical assessments on the Guideline and mediator financial institutions are the ones competent only for financial assessment in implementation of the interest supports.
Interest-free credit support is provided for profit – making individuals and organization’s projects whose qualifications specified in the protocol signed between the agency and intermediary organizations. Interest-free loans will be granted through intermediary organizations within procedures and principles stated in Regulations for Development Agencies’ Project and Activity Support and Development Agency’s Management Guideline and it will be paid back in installments without payment of interest. The relevant intermediary institutions are the institutions and organizations working under an agreement with the Agency, mediator public institutions are the specialized institutions (such as small and medium industry development organization and export promotion center) competent to make technical assessments on the Guideline and mediator financial institutions are the ones competent only for financial assessment in implementation of the interest-free loan supports.
The Guided Project Support involves the determination and support of the projects, which pose importance in the sense of the acceleration of regional development, enhancement of the competitiveness of the region and the improvement of the regional business environment, under the leadership and guidance of the Agency.
The Agency provides financial support through calls for project proposals method. Projects are obliged to be in accordance with the prerequisites announced by the Agency, which will be very closely related to the development axes given in the Regional Plan document. Financial supports provided this way are designed both for non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Feasbility support is provided to projects which will directly contribute to prevention of economic risks and threats while improving the innovation and entrepreneurship capacity of the region. For-profit organizations cannot benefit from feasibility support.
